How to Book a Komodo Island Tour: Step-by-Step Guide

Booking your Komodo Island boat trip is simple. Follow these steps to secure your spot and ensure a smooth, worry-free adventure to Komodo National Park.

Step 1: Check Availability and Boat Schedules

Contact our team directly via WhatsApp or Email to check open departure dates. Let us know whether you are looking for a shared group trip or a private boat charter.

Step 2: Submit Your Passport Details

Send a clear photo or copy of your passport. We need these details to register your information for official park entries and local clearing systems (such as SiOra).

Step 3: Secure Your Reservation with a Deposit

To lock in your booking, pay the required deposit via PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer. Deposits typically range from 30% to 50% of the total tour cost.

Step 4: Receive Your Official Confirmation

Once the deposit is processed, we will send your formal booking confirmation and tour voucher straight to your WhatsApp or email.

Step 5: Book Your Hotel in Labuan Bajo

Reserve your accommodation in Labuan Bajo. We highly recommend arriving at least one day before your boat departs. For maximum convenience, choose a hotel within our designated free pickup zone.

Step 6: Settle the Remaining Balance

Pay the final balance of your tour package. Depending on the operator’s specific rules, this can be paid online ahead of time or in cash upon arrival in Labuan Bajo.

Pro Travel Tip: Plan and Book Early!

Komodo boat trips fill up quickly. During the peak high season (June to August), we strongly recommend booking 2 to 3 weeks in advance. During the quieter low-season months, you should book at least 3 to 4 days ahead of your desired departure.

Komodo Tour Terms, Policies & Important Travel Information

To ensure a safe and memorable adventure, please review our essential guidelines for traveling in the Komodo region. Due to the dynamic nature of marine tourism and ocean conditions, these terms help us prioritize your comfort and safety.

1. Trips Can Change (For Your Safety!)

  • Weather Rules: If the ocean gets too rough or stormy, the captain will change the route. Your safety comes first!
  • Island Limits: The park only allows 1,000 visitors a day at Padar Island. If it is full, we will take you to beautiful Kenawa Island instead.
  • Book Early: Spots and entry passes sell out fast. Don’t wait until the last minute!

2.Life on the Boat

  • Cool and Authentic: You will be sailing on a traditional Indonesian wooden boat!
  • Basic & Clean: The cabins (bedrooms) and bathrooms are small and cozy, not like a luxury hotel room. It is a real sea adventure!
  • It Gets Noisy: The boat’s generator stays on all night to run the lights and air conditioning. Bring good earplugs or noise-canceling headphones to help you sleep.

3. What If the Boat Breaks Down?

  • Safety Checks: All boats are checked regularly.
  • Backup Plan: If something breaks during the trip, we will get a replacement boat quickly so your holiday keeps going.
  • Changes: If the new boat is different, the price might change a little bit. If you don’t like the alternative, you can cancel and get your deposit back.

4. Canceling & Changing Dates

If you need to cancel your trip, the rules depend on how close you are to the departure day:

  • 8+ days before: You lose your 30% deposit, but get any other payments back.
  • 5 to 7 days before: You must pay 50% of the total price.
  • 4 days or less (or No-Show): No refunds at all.
  • Date Changes: You can ask to change your trip date up to 14 days before you leave, depending on if boats are free.

5. Travel Insurance & Taking Care of Your Gear

  • Insurance is a Must: Before stepping onto the boat, you must have travel insurance. Your policy needs to cover trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and adventure sports like snorkeling and diving.
  • Watch Your Belongings: Keep your phones, cameras, drones, and bags safe! Nayaka is not responsible if your personal items get lost, stolen, or damaged during the trip. We also do not cover medical costs if you get hurt.

6. Our Role & Who Runs the Boat

  • We Are Your Booking Agent: Nayaka is a licensed travel agency. We help you find and book the best Komodo trips by connecting you with trusted, local boat owners in Labuan Bajo and Lombok.
  • The Crew is in Charge: We do not own or run the physical boats. The actual boat operator and their crew are fully responsible for driving the ship, managing safety equipment, and taking care of you while you are on board.

7. Komodo National Park Fees & Extra Charges

  • Inclusions & Exclusions: The base tour price typically covers your onboard meals, drinking water, and basic snorkeling gear.
  • Government Fees: Komodo National Park entrance fees, ranger fees, and local trekking taxes are not included in the base price. These mandatory fees must be paid directly in cash (IDR) to the boat crew on Day 1.

2026 Komodo National Park Entrance Fees

These official updated rates are flat, one-time fees covering your entire multi-day boat tour. There are no daily re-entry charges:

Tour Duration Total Park Fee Per Person
4 Days 3 Nights Boat Trip IDR 750,000
3 Days 2 Nights Boat Trip IDR 650,000
2 Days 1 Night Boat Trip IDR 550,000
Day Tour by Speedboat IDR 450,000

What does this fee include?

  • Full admission to all major park destinations
  • Park ranger (ranger) and local trekking guide fees
  • Snorkeling permits and local government retribution fees
  • Wildlife conservation contributions

8. Lock It In: Final Agreement

  • Read Carefully: Make sure you and your family read all these rules before sending any money.
  • Paying Means Agreeing: The moment your deposit is paid, it means you completely understand and agree to follow all the boat rules and cancellation policies listed here.
  • Send Your Receipt: As soon as you transfer the deposit, send a screenshot or photo of your receipt to our staff on WhatsApp or email. Your spot on the boat isn’t locked in or safe until we verify your payment!
